SaaS Escrow

With classical escrow arrangements the continuity focus is to secure the source code: stored safely, verified, updated and released to licensee in special circumstances. For hosted applications the continuity focus is to make certain that the application remains available and that user data is accessible.

Such classical escrow arrangements are still being closed for hosted applications - from CRM to financial software while the added value of such arrangements is questionable. Escrow4all has created a new industry benchmark and developed the SaaS service from the ground up - old “industry habits” are no longer applicable: storing source code is no longer a standard requirement.

Furthermore with innovation being one of our key values we have developed our SaaS Escrow arrangement with the requirements of end user as starting point.

The service model for SaaS Escrow is less universal than that for client-server or locally installed software (classical software). This is why there is no “one size fits all” SaaS arrangement for all conceivable scenarios. What is available are modulair and coherent services and agreements:

• Legal right to use material
• Hosting Provider Agreement: application remains available
• Access check to verify that infrastructure and data is accessible
• Maintenance check to secure available knowledge
• Storing source code, documentation and other elements.
